Overview

The Denver Tax Software (DTS) Due Date Reminder System for Microsoft® Windows® will keep track of due dates and make money for you. You can use this program as much for expanding your business as you can for keeping your engagements on schedule.

Since 1986 made the accounting business more seasonal than ever before. The Due Date System can help make the busy season less stressful and the rest of the year more profitable. For the busy season, you can use this program to track compliance work. In fact, you can monitor returns so closely with this system that you can keep track of details like when a tax organizer was sent out and when it was returned.

You can use this program to answer some of the most important practice management questions like --

  • What planning projects that were put off in busy season can be turned into very profitable chargeable hours in a slow month like August? It is so easy to overlook projects that were postponed. When someone in your office forgets engagements like that, not only are you losing out on some of the most profitable work, but you have an unhappy client.
  • What engagements are due within 30 days? 15 days?
  • What engagements, that tax manager Jane Smith is responsible for, are due on March 15th? You could give that report to her. A partner could review that report to see if Jane has an impossible schedule. If Jane suddenly becomes ill, you can see what she is working on, and farm it out to another manager.
  • Was the XYZ, Inc. Form 1120 completed on March 15th or extended? If it was extended, were there any significant reasons why we couldn’t file it on the original due date? You can have the system remind you that it was delayed, because the client was slow at getting you information. If completed, when was it completed?

What's New

Version WDD1999.11:

Better Reports

You have much more control over what will be in the various engagement reports and how they will be sorted. Now you can limit reports to one client, one employee or one type of service. You can sort reports by either Due Date or Period End. You can select the range of dates. The Summary Reports use fewer pages saving both time and paper. The information in the reports is sorted in the order that most had requested in a recent survey. You will rarely see almost empty pages now that we reduced the number of page breaks.

You Can Find Engagements Quicker

When you change information for an engagement you need to find that engagement first. Previously, it could take some time to find that engagement. Now, if you know any combination of Client Name (or Client Code), Service Code or Due Date, the program will find that engagement for you faster with its Find Engagement screen.
The Engagement Screen Changes When YOU Want It To

The Engagement Screen's list of engagements now doesn't change until you want it to. When you finish entering a client's engagement information, the Engagement Screen's list shows the same list of engagements. This helps you keep track of where you have been entering information. The old version would reset the list to the first engagements in the list. Thus, if you were working on client 501 and your next client to work with is 502, the screen will show those engagements rather than show 001.

More Descriptions And Less Codes

Since this program should make life easier for people, we have redesigned most of the inputs to deal with descriptions not codes. Now, you don't have to remember that John Doe is client 3044; all you have to do is enter John Doe instead of 3044. If you have the Client Codes already memorized, that is OK. It is your option. Use a name or use a code. Either will now work.

This Program Remembers How You Like To Use It

The program keeps track of the way you like to do things. Many of the preferences and settings that you use one day will be the same that you use the next day. This version of the program "remembers" many of your settings and preferences.

A New Engagement Can Be Created When The Old One Is Extended

With previous versions, when an engagement was completed it could set up a similar one for the next period. With this version, at your option, the program can do that when an engagement is extended. The program makes sure the new engagement will not duplicate one already in the system.
