Smart Addresser - Microsoft Word Mail Merge Link
Denver Tax Software, Inc. (DTS) uses Smart Addresser USA by Datatech SmartSoft, Inc. for bulk or standard class mailings. DTS has created a program to convert a Smart Addresser USA file to a Microsoft Access file that can be used by Microsoft Word as a data file in its mail merge function. Furthermore, DTS has created a Microsoft Word document with the appropriate fields for the data and the USPS barcode.
Smart Addresser is the Windows version of Group 1 Software's Arclist. Arclist had a mail merge (menu choice Document) feature that we used. Smart Addresser did not have a similar mail merge feature. Since that mail merge feature (form letters) was critical to our direct mail advertising, we created this program to convert a Smart Addresser USA files to a Microsoft Access files.
